# Meta Muse vs Instinct: Track a Goal or Delegate an Errand?

> Compare Muse’s visible plans and activity with Instinct’s text-and-call errands, using household planning to separate ongoing goals from individual bookings.

Muse’s documented goal and activity views make it a relevant trial for a project that lasts several weeks. Instinct’s text-and-call interaction makes it a relevant trial for an errand you want to hand off quickly. Public evidence is much more detailed about Muse’s workspace than Instinct’s background behavior; that difference in documentation must not be mistaken for a feature test.

## Compare the job you want to delegate

| Household need | Meta Muse | Instinct |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Keep a multi-step project visible | Goals, plans and activity described by Meta | Detailed goal-tracking interface unverified |
| Request a small errand | Chat and connected services | Text or call; errands are the homepage’s examples |
| Inspect lasting preferences | Readable, editable memory in the design account | Personalization described in policy; memory editor unverified |
| Understand where work runs | Dedicated cloud VM documented | Public execution architecture not established |

## A kitchen project contains both kinds of work

Suppose you are preparing a kitchen for a family gathering. You need a repair appointment, ingredient purchases and a plan that changes when a relative’s travel dates move. Booking one appointment is not the same task as keeping the whole preparation plan current.

For Muse, use the plan as the evaluation unit. Ask for dependencies: what must happen before the shopping list is final, which dates are confirmed and which steps need a decision. Its Goals and activity views provide documented places to inspect continuing work. Change the guest count and see whether you can identify which part of the plan needs revision. We have not tested whether Muse will make that revision correctly.

For Instinct, use a bounded errand as the evaluation unit. Its official examples include ordering ingredients and groceries. State the quantities, acceptable substitutions and delivery window, then inspect the proposed order before a commitment. The examples do not establish every retailer, payment route or region. Confirm those during setup rather than assuming a demonstration covers your store.

The practical question is how often you want to return to a plan. A short interaction can reduce friction for an errand, while a larger project needs a way to see unresolved work. Do not give a low-friction interface credit for undocumented project tracking, or assume a goal-oriented interface cannot handle small tasks.

## Preference correction matters after the first request

Muse’s design account explicitly describes editing memory. Instinct’s policy describes using interaction and connected-service data for personalization, plus a distinction between disconnecting a service and deleting data already collected. [Instinct policy](https://instinct.com/privacy-policy).

For a recurring household constraint, such as a dietary preference, inspect what is saved and how to correct it. Keep a temporary delivery quote out of the list of permanent preferences. The public documents do not establish a shared memory format or a transfer path between these products.

## Resolve access before building the plan around it

Meta’s [announcement](https://about.fb.com/news/2026/09/introducing-muse-personal-ai-agent/) describes a US rollout on mobile and web, with WhatsApp access and subscriptions alongside free use. Its exact current paid limits are not established here. Instinct’s reviewed pages leave price, quotas and country eligibility unknown. Neither absence of a public table nor an app link guarantees free or immediate access.

Evaluate Muse first for the ongoing plan if its rollout covers you. Evaluate Instinct first for a text-or-call errand if the supported services match the task.
