Agentastic 0.8 puts the assistant on every screen, gives each conversation a canvas, and shows you exactly what the agent is doing while it works.
Daily Briefing. A morning edition, written for you in the background. Choose a time, the sources it reads, and a standing request of your own. Agentastic gathers the day with your tools and delivers a designed edition when it is ready. Each day is a new version of the same brief, kept in one conversation.
Edge Badge. A permanent pill on the edge of your display. Click it to ask something without leaving the app you are in, or hold the voice shortcut to talk. Answers stream inline, with one click to expand into the launcher.
Canvas. Every conversation now has an infinite board. Files, folders, PDFs, pasted images, and screenshots arrive on it as sources, and drafts, decks, and image albums appear as outputs. Edits you make on the board are read back into the next turn, so you no longer have to ask the agent to reread its own work.
An agent-centric launcher. The sidebar is organized around your agents, each with a persistent chat and nested threads, alongside new Activity and Library destinations. Threads gain a full actions menu, the sidebar collapses to a compact rail, and Add Agent is one click away.
See the work happen. Sub-agents render as a live nested tree in the conversation and the sidebar, with tool detail one disclosure away. When the agent drives the browser, an on-screen cursor flies to each target and names what it is about to do.
Inline agents that keep their place. Bracket prompts and selection answers now continue the right conversation instead of starting fresh, and hold their insertion point even if you change apps, windows, or browser tabs mid-answer.
Research stays out of your browser. Reading the web and controlling your browser are now separate capabilities. Ordinary research never brings Chrome forward, touches a signed-in session, or raises an Automation prompt.
- Filter the model picker by provider, set a thinking level per model, and see reasoning tokens in Usage and Status.
- Direct providers accept a custom API base URL for local and self-hosted endpoints. Leave it blank for built-in routing.
- Plans are organized by capability, so what you get is clear before you buy.
- Arc and Dia join the supported browsers for tabs, selection, and screenshots.
- Built-in Chromium no longer asks for a Keychain password, and keeps working when access is denied.
- Settings behaves like a normal Mac app. It appears in the Dock and Command-Tab, reuses its window, honors the destination you asked for, and quits with its last window.
- Auto appearance follows macOS everywhere now, including open launcher windows and onboarding.
- Calendar stays honestly unavailable until it is configured, with setup and permission recovery in one place.
- iMessage declares whether it is ready up front instead of starting a permission chase in the middle of a request.
- Channel pairing requires approval from your own launcher or CLI. A code delivered to the requester is no longer proof of identity.
- Command-N opens a new thread instead of resetting the current one, and Command-` cycles Agentastic windows again.
- Links in prompts and tool activity render as compact bookmarks with favicons, and Code Mode activity collapses into intent-first disclosures.
- Sessions show a live activity ring in the sidebar while they stream or run tools, and vision shows an eye in the header while it is capturing.
- Web search runs through the Agentastic Search API.
- Fresh installs no longer ship seeded memory channels.
- The transcript no longer goes blank after sending a prompt, and stays pinned to the bottom only when you want it to.
- Fixed hangs when resizing panes and when previewing large source files.
- Fixed markdown inside code blocks rendering as formatted text.
- Fixed inline LaTeX being split onto its own line and formulas falling back to raw source.
- Fixed entity cards showing raw HTML escapes in names and email addresses.
- Fixed tags going undetected after emoji and other extended characters.
- Fixed transcript text keeping its old colors after an appearance change.
- Fixed inline code backgrounds overlapping adjacent lines.
- Any conversation can be closed now, and any recently closed one can be reopened from the sidebar.
- Background work from a previous conversation can no longer retitle or seed suggestions in a new one.
- Fixed remote and channel replies ending on interim narration instead of the final answer.
- Fixed kernel tool calling failing to start, which silently reduced the agent to plain text.
- Citations follow the active theme, and browser activity labels lost their emoji.
- Reduced startup hangs and crash reports across the launcher.
