Claude Duet vs Meta Muse: Briefs or Ongoing Goals?

Compare Duet’s Claude-based briefs with Muse’s goals, activity views and dedicated cloud workspace, including preview access and memory boundaries.

Claude Duet is a natural starting point for a Claude subscriber who wants priorities brought back into view. Meta Muse is worth considering when the organizing unit is a longer personal goal, with a visible plan and progress to revisit. Both describe background work; the useful distinction is how you return to decisions as the work changes.

Evidence checked October 23, 2026. Written by the Agentastic team from official documentation. We have not used either product in a signed-in comparison or measured reliability.

Duet’s rows follow Anthropic’s setup guide. Muse’s interface comes from How We Designed Muse, and its execution environment from Meta’s September 8 safety post. A more detailed design explanation is useful evidence, not proof of a better outcome.

A changing relocation plan

Consider a move with several open decisions: school dates, a lease deadline and a shipment quote. The task is to keep the plan current without turning each email into an interruption.

With Duet, evaluate the morning brief as the entry point. Does it bring back the lease decision when action is due, and can you find the email that supports it? Carrying Claude context forward can reduce setup if those preferences already live there. It does not prove that a newly connected source is complete or current.

With Muse, evaluate the goal view. Can you see the plan, unfinished steps and the decision holding up the next action? Change the intended move date and inspect whether the plan still contains work based on the old date. This is a proposed trial, not a result we observed.

The distinction is practical: someone overwhelmed by daily inputs may prefer a brief; someone returning to a complicated project after several days may value a stable goal view. Either product may support parts of both workflows.

Memory is not a migration guarantee

Duet’s account integration does not establish an import path for Muse’s memory. Likewise, Muse’s editable memory does not mean it knows every preference in Claude. When evaluating a switch, bring a short list of stable constraints and inspect what the new agent saves. Keep temporary quote prices beside their current sources.

Muse’s design account describes activity logs, memory editing and structured approvals. Anthropic’s launch post describes automatic action review and credential separation. These are different descriptions of safeguards; neither warrants a claim that every consequential step always receives an identical approval screen.

Access can settle the choice first

Duet was announced October 21 as a research preview: US Pro/Max users need a waitlist invitation, and usage is shared with the Claude plan. Muse’s announcement describes a US rollout and free use plus subscriptions; the exact paid allowance is not established by that announcement. Confirm your account’s current offer before planning around either.

Choose Duet to evaluate a Claude-based daily attention workflow. Choose Muse to evaluate the visible management of a continuing personal goal. See Duet vs dots for another account-based coordinator, or return to the complete comparison matrix.
